GMail now supports imap

A pleasant surprise news this morning. Now gmail supports imap! look at your gmail setting page. you might be surprised. I was setting up my own mail server just for this, so the timing is almost perfect as well. Of course, Google guys don’t risk the security of their servers, so it’s all thru SSL. Very nice.Time to apt-get –purge remove dovecot.

IMAP was the only thing that was missing in gmail. The best thing now is that I can sync my gmail account with my iPhone! I saw a video tutorial and it’s so easy! If you guys don’t know how, here is the link: weshow.com/us/p/20767/set_up_gmail_imap_for_iphone
